Argentine broadcaster TNT Sports journalist Martin Castilla has shared his belief that Inter are the club most likely to sign Barcelona’s Lionel Messi in the event that he looks to leave his current employers.
In the past few days there have been no shortage of links linking the multi-time world player of the year with Inter with Castilla himself even claiming Messi is Inter bound alongside Velez Sarsfield wonderkid Thiago Almada.
“The relationship between Messi and the Barcelona leadership is at an all-time low. Juventus and Newell’s Old Boys are also in for Messi but Inter are big favourites to sign him if he leaves Barcelona,” Castilla remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportItalia earlier on today.
“This has existed since Moratti’s days in charge of Inter. The former Inter owner wanted to bring Messi to Milan at a young age.”
Messi is under contract with the Blaugrana, where he has spent his entire career, until the end of next season and it has been widely reported that he has a clause which allows himself to go free from the club.
This season the 32-year-old superstar has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 24 goals and provided a total of 16 assists for his teammtes.
