Cagliari Director Passetti: “We’ll Speak With Nainggolan & Inter & See If We Can Build Something Together”

Cagliari sporting director Marco Passetti has confirmed that the club will hold talks with Inter over Radja Nainggolan at the end of the season.

Nainggolan is currently on loan at the Sardinia based club, who would reportedly like to keep a hold of him but the finances expected to be involved will make things very much difficult for the Rossoblu.

Inter reportedly want a sum in the region of €18 million for the 31-year-old Belgian and his reported €4.6 million annual salary will be a stumbling block for Cagliari in particular.

“It’s clear that, after what is happening, to think that Cagliari will be able to afford the wage of Nainggolan is quite unrealistic,” Passetti remarked in an interview with Italian newspaper La Domenica Sportiva.

“The talks between the parties can make the difference. We will talk about it with Radja and we will talk about it with Inter. We will see if there are the conditions to build something together.”

Whilst back at Cagliari, who he previously played for between January 2010 and January 2014, Nainggolan has recaptured his best form again.

He has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In just over 1900 minutes on the park, he has scored five goals and has provided a total of six assists.
