Inter and Sporting could conduct a swap deal involving Joao Mario and Marcos Acuna in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese news outlet A Bola.

Inter showed a keen interest in signing Acuna back in the most recent January transfer window but could not reach an agreement with Sporting over his transfer.

It could however be different come the next transfer window though with the report stating that the clubs are considering a straight swap deal involving the two players.

Sporting would like to bring Joao Mario back to the club, four years on from letting him go, and by agreeing to send Inter Marcos Acuna, they could well acquire him again.

This season 28-year-old Acuna has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals and provided four assists for his teammates.

Joao Mario has meanwhile made 15 appearances across all competitions whilst out on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow, during which he has scored once and tallied four assists.
