Radja Nainggolan will not be used by Inter as the payment of their second instalment for Nicolo Barella to Cagliari according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.
Reports in the media have suggested that Inter could send Nainggolan to the Rossoblu club, where he is currently on loan, on a permanent basis instead of paying the €25 million they are due to pay them for Barella.
However the report states that this will not happen for a few reasons, the first is Cagliari. As much as they would like to keep Nainggolan, his wages are a real stumbling block for them and would be unsustainable in the long term unless he agreed to greatly reduce his annual pay packet.
Moreover, Inter do not want to create any confusion or complicate things with regard to the Barella deal.
The report goes on to conclude that it is very much probable that Nainggolan’s future lies far from Milan but does not give any indication as to where it could be.
