Napoli are beginning to fear that they could lose Dries Mertens in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Mertens current contract with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of this season and it appeared as if he was going to sign a contract extension following a positive meeting with club president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis but it not longer seems so sure that he will stick around given interest from elsewhere.

Napoli have offered him a two year contract extension with an annual salary of €4 million plus a €2 million signing on bonus but as per the report, Inter have offered him a two year deal with an option with a third which comes with an annual salary of €5 million plus bonuses.

Belgian national team teammate Romelu Lukaku is also trying to convince him to leave Napoli and join him in Milan at Inter.

AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Chelsea have all also been linked with signing him in recent weeks too.
