European football’s governing body UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) are continuing to discuss ways in which the current season can end according to a report from Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
UEFA and the ECA are currently hopeful that the domestic campaigns will be finished in July and this will allow the remainder of both the Champions League and Europa League to be played out during August.
Upon the competition of the Champions League and Europa League, players will get a holiday period of around three weeks and pre-season would begin at the start of September and the 2020/21 season would begin around mid-September.
The report goes on to add that there is currently nothing set in stone with regards to how the season will finish as UEFA and the ECA both well aware that everything ultimately depends on how the pandemic situation develops in the coming weeks in all countries.
