European football’s governing body UEFA are considering holding the finals of both the Champions League and Europa League at the end of August according to a report from British news outlet TalkSport.

As per the report, UEFA are considering plans that would see the Champions League final played on August 29 and the Europa League final played three days prior on August 26.

They are due to meet to hold discussions next week in relation to how the competitions could finish and the report goes on to warn that the completion of the two competitions all depends on when domestic leagues can resume.

The completion of the rounds in the lead up to the final will also play a part in things. There are still some last 16 ties needing to be played in each competition with both legs of Inter’s Europa League last 16 tie with La Liga outfit Getafe needing to be played.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that UEFA could even modify the format of the competitions from the quarter final stage onward in order to complete both of them.
