Kwadwo Asamoah’s father Emmanuel Asamoah has confirmed that his son would welcome a recall to the Ghanaian national team in the future.

The experienced full back has made a total of 71 appearances for Ghana and was part of the squad that very nearly reached the semi-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Asamoah has however rarely played for Ghana since 2017 due to a series of disagreement with manager James Kwesi Appiah but with Appiah now out of the job, there is a chance that Asamoah could well end up back in the team.

“He has not retired from the Black Stars and he would be honoured if he received a call up,”  he remarked in an interview with Ghanaian radio station Ashh FM earlier on today.

Asamoah is under contract with Inter until the end of next season but various reports in the media have suggested that he could be on his way out of the club with Fenerbahce and Hoffenheim both having been linked as of late.

This season he has made just 11 appearances across all competitions due to a knee problem and in just shy of 900 minutes on the field, he has tallied a single assist.
