In an interview with Spanish news outlet AS via social media platform Instagram, former Inter winger Keita Balde has reminisced about the season he spent on loan at the Nerazzurri from AS Monaco.
“My time at Inter was short but intense, with many emotions. I scored a goal that helped the team to the Champions League. It was unique,” he began the interview which was broadcast late last night.
He was then asked which is the bigger derby in Italy, the Derby della Capitale between Lazio and Roma or Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan.
“The one in Rome is more combative and heartfelt. It is unique. The one in Milan has more glamour because they are the two big teams in Italy, besides Juventus.. It is a class derby. Each has its own special aspects.”
The Senegalese international was then asked about Lautaro Martinez and the continued speculation regarding the 22-year-old Argentine’s future with Inter amid links to Barcelona.
“I like him very much. I played with him last year and I felt very comfortable with him. He is fast and is doing well. I don’t think Inter will let him go, but if I were in Barça I would try to sign him.
“It’s complicated though because Inter are building a team to get to the top and to try to take the Scudetto off of Juventus.”
25-year-old Keita Balde spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Inter during which time he made 29 appearances across all competitions. In just over 1000 minutes on the park, he scored five goals and provided two assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
This season at Monaco, he has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored eight goals and tallied four assists.
