Inter are securing their core defenders by offering them new contracts, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have offered a new contract to both Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, in order to secure their services and ensure that other clubs won’t look to sign either of the players in the summer.

The 25-year-old Slovakian defender, whose current deal expires in 2023, has already signed the renewal, ensuring that he will be tied to the club for at least four more years.

The Dutch defender will sign his new contract soon, the report continues. The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in 2023 as well, and he too is a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s defense.

The former Juventus and Chelsea coach has communicated to the Nerazzurri’s management that he doesn’t want to lose these two defenders, as well as Alessandro Bastoni and Samir Handanovic, who has signed a new contract that expires in 2022.
