The Italian players association (AIC) will today examine the medical protocol developed by the Federal Scientific Scientific Commission according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Professor Walter Della Frera will be present at a specially convened AIC board of directors meeting to discuss the protocol in great detail.

The report however warns that meeting all of the conditions will be far from easy and certainly challenging, especially the one relating to the prospect of players having to spend two to three weeks locked down in club training centres away from their families.

Teams may be allowed to make a return to training starting on May 4 with a view to then resuming the season at the end of the month or start of the following month but given the great uncertainty at the moment, it remains to be seen if this will all be able to take place.
