The Lega Serie A council have voted unanimously in favour of completing the 2019/20 season today according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.
The Lega Serie A council met earlier on today to hold talks over how to proceed with the season which is currently on hold – and has been for over a month now – due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and they unanimously confirmed their intention of completing the season, should the Italian government allow it to happen.
The report goes on to add that health and safety will be fully respected as part of the restart and the resumption of sporting activity will take place in accordance with the indications of world football’s governing body FIFA and European football’s governing body UEFA as well as in line with the medical protocol created by the Italian football federation (FIGC) which has been created with the aim of protecting everyone involved.
