In an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com, former Inter attacker Keita Balde has reflected on the relationship’s he formed with his Nerazzurri teammates.
“At Inter I got close with many players like Mauro Icardi, Roberto Gagliardini, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Matias Vecino, Borja Valero and Lautaro Martinez,” the Senegalese national team player, who is primarily a winger and more than capable of playing at striker too, explained in the interview which took place on social media platform Instagram last night.
He then spoke on what it was like to come up against Icardi earlier on this season when his current employers AS Monaco came up against Paris Saint Germain, where Icardi is currently out on loan.
“We had a nice game in Paris when our sides met, it finished 3-3. At the final whistle we swapped shirts and we talked a little and that’s it. He is a good boy and we recently messaged each other. His future? I don’t know, we didn’t talk about football.”
The 25-year-old also spoke on the differences between the Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio and the Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan.
“The Rome derby begins three weeks before the game both in the city and at training. As for the Milan derby, it’s chic, glamorous and classy.”
Keita, who has a contract with AS Monaco through to the end of the 2021/22 season, spent the duration of the 2018/19 season on loan at Inter. He scored five goals and provided two assists in 29 appearances for Inter.
