Inter are more interested in signing younger players as opposed to Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired today.
Cavani’s contract with PSG is due to expire at the end of this season and he has offered his services to Inter and whilst Inter manager Antonio Conte has liked him for a long time, Inter are more interested in signing younger players to him, especially RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner instead.
Werner, who is nine years younger than Cavani is, has a €60 million release clause in his current contract with the German Bundesliga club and has also drawn links to reigning Champions League holders Liverpool as of late.
This season the 24-year-old has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists.
Werner aside, other reports in the media have linked Inter with the likes of Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and Lille’s Victor Osimhen among others.
