Inter have tabled a contract offer to Napoli forward Dries Mertens according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The Belgian national team forward’s current deal with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of the season and Inter have offered him a three year contract with an annual salary of €5 million to join them on a free transfer.

Inter aside, the 32-year-old is seemingly a target of Chelsea, Newcastle United and AS Monaco and reports elsewhere have stated that Chelsea are currently leading the race to land him.

The report from Sport Mediaset goes on to add that Inter have made their stance regarding Lautaro Martinez clear to Barcelona, who continue to show an interest in signing him.

Inter have told Barcelona they want at least €80-90 million plus Arturo Vidal before even sitting down to negotiate any deal and Barcelona are now trying to raise funds through player sales.
