Inter full back Danilo D’Ambrosio has stressed that health must come first before the 2019/20 football season is resumed.

The season has been on hold for almost two months now as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and whilst all 20 Serie A clubs have voted in favour of the campaign resuming if the government allow it, it is as yet unclear when the season may resume, if at all.

“Health is the most important thing, it comes before every sporting event and everything. Even if we were to resume playing, we would still have to play with the stadiums closed,” he explained in an Instagram Live chat with Italian television presenter Enzo Miccio earlier on tonight.

The 31-year-old joined Inter back in the midst of the 2013/14 season and has a contract with the club until the end of next season although recent reports have suggested that Inter are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

The Italian national team player, who is also capable of playing at centre back, has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored a single goal.
