Inter are prepared to re-sign Standard Liege defender Zinho Vanheusden, due to the strong interest from Atalanta, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri sold the 20-year-old Belgian to Standard Liege last summer but inserted a possible buy-back option in the deal. The Nerazzurri have been following him for a while now, debating bringing him back to Milan to join coach Antonio Conte’s project.

The strong interest from Atalanta and other clubs may push Inter to activate the buy back option on Vanheusden, the report continues. The Bergamo based club, alongside Sampdoria and clubs in the Netherlands and Spain, are keen on the player and his €12 million price tag seems like a bargain in the modern transfer market. Standard Liege are suffering from the financial impact of Coronavirus and may lower their price further, making a deal even more accessible.
