Paris Saint Germain have decided to permanently sign Inter owned forward Mauro Icardi but want a discount on his €70 million price tag, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the French newspaper L’Equipe.

The report details how the 27-year-old Argentine striker joined the Parisian club on loan last summer, with the Nerazzurri attaching a €70 million buy option on the deal. The player has shined in France, being one of the most dangerous forwards in the league and helping the side top Ligue 1. Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1958 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists.

Whilst PSG do want to sign Icardi, the report continues, there is a slight problem. The Parisian’s want to ask Inter for a discount on the 27-year-old forward, due to the financial impact of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which is set to heavily affect the upcoming summer transfer window.
