Inter may decide against signing Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal for three reasons, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte has identified the 32-year-old Chilean midfielder as his top target for a long time now, attempting to sign the player in the January transfer window. The Milanese club may decide against signing him for three reasons, however.

The first reason is that Inter still don’t know what will happen to Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan, the report continues, and he could still return to the Nerazzurri if Cagliari don’t decide to sign him permanently.

The second reason is that the club haven’t decided if they want to sell Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini, and if Vidal arrives then the midfield department would become incredibly congested. The final reason is that the player will turn 33 later this month, a high age for the Nerazzurri, who are hoping for a younger squad with room for growth.
