The FIGC protocol that could restart group training has been handed over to the Italian Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the FIGC are hoping that squad training can be restarted on the 18th of May. Handing over the protocol to the Minister of Health is the first of many bureaucratic steps that could help restart squad training sessions. The FIGC are hoping that there will be the approval for squad training later today, giving Italian teams a timeline to work with.

Italian clubs returned to their training centres earlier this week, with players taking Coronavirus tests before undergoing staggered training sessions. All of the Inter squad tested negative for the contagion, but coach Antonio Conte has not yet been tested and so has been forced to remain a safe distance away from the squad.
