In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Anch’io Sport earlier on today, Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone has insisted that Federico Chiesa is happy with the club.

Chiesa has been strongly linked with potential Summer transfer window moves away to both Inter and Juventus, who are long term admirers of him.

It has also been suggested in the media that the 22-year-old could well sign a new and improved contract with La Viola, who he is already under contract with until the end of the 2021/22 season.

“Chiesa has overcome his physical problems and has returned to being what everyone has already seen. Federico is happy, he has a contract. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season,” he explained.

The Italian national team winger has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In just over 2100 minutes on the field, he has scored seven goals and has provided a total of five assists for his teammates.

Barone also spoke on Gaetano Castrovilli, who has been linked with Inter, Juventus and a host of other clubs as of late.

“Castrovilli is one of the Italian talents we are betting on. He has a great margin of growth and is convinced of our ambitions.”
