Former RB Leipzig manager and current head of sport and development of the Red Bull football empire Ralf Rangnick has confirmed it will be up to Timo Werner to decide his future.

The highly prolific German national team striker has drawn links to Liverpool, Inter and Juventus among other clubs in recent weeks and months ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window with some reports stating he will almost certainly leave his current employers for a new club.

“In the end, it’s up to Timo to decide what he wants to do. Here in Leipzig, he knows what he will get. He can play in the Champions League again next season,” Rangnick remarked in an interview with German news outlet BILD, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“The question is, where can he have more? Timo is a player who needs faith, he needs to know that the coach counts on him.”

Werner has been with the Bundesliga outfit since the Summer of 2016 when he joined from Stuttgart. He has since went on to make 150 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he has scored 88 goals and provided 39 assists for his teammates.

This season the 24-year-old has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored 27 goals and tallied 12 assists.
