Inter are leading the race to sign Hellas Verona central defender Marash Kumbulla according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter have been in pole position to land the Italian born Albanian international for a few months now and are facing competition from Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Lazio for his signature.

Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti does not wish to accept any players as part of a deal for the highly promising defender and is looking to get as much money as possible for him.

The report goes on to explain that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is confident he can convince the player to choose them over other options on the table as Lazio have a good project for him to join where he would be able to play continuously, which may not be the case elsewhere.

This season he has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal.
