Edin Dzeko’s wife Amra Silajdžić has confirmed that the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team striker made the decision to reject the advances of other clubs this past Summer entirely on his own.

The veteran Roma player drew strong links to both Inter and Chelsea and at one stage he appeared set to move to Inter before performing a u-turn and signing a contract extension with the Giallorossi club.

“When it comes to football we evaluate everything together, however, it was Edin who made this decision. I am happy to have stayed. Rome is our second home,” Silajdžić, who has been married to Dzeko since 2014, explained in an interview with Rome based newspaper Il Tempo, an interview which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

This season the former Manchester City man, who is under contract with the Italian capital city side until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date.

In just over 2700 minutes on the park, the 2016/17 Serie A top scorer, has scored 15 goals and provided a total of nine assists for his teammates.
