Valentino Lazaro is more likely to return to Inter rather than join Newcastle United on a permanent basis according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Lazaro joined the Premier League side on loan for the remainder of this season back in January with Newcastle United obtaining an option to buy him permanently for around €20 million.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis Lazaro has not played many games since his arrival at St James’ Park but in his five appearances for the Mapgies he has scored a single goal.

The report goes on to claim that Inter have already developed a strategy that is mutual beneficial for themselves and the Austrian national team full back.

Lazaro joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin this past Summer but struggled to cement a place in Antonio Conte’s team. He made 11 appearances for Inter, in which he tallied two assists.
