Inter have no intention of entering into negotiations involving Nicolo Barella according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Premier League club Arsenal made a recent enquiry about the former Cagliari midfielder but it is destined to go no further than that.

Inter wish to keep a hold of Barella and in the coming months they could even sit down with him to discuss a contract extension with the club.

The Italian national team player’s current deal with the club runs until the end of the 2023/24 season and Inter could look to extend that by a further season. Inter will also up the highly rated 23-year-old’s salary as part of any new contract.

In his first season with the Nerazzurri, Barella has impressed in his 29 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2000 minutes on the field, he has scored three goals and has provided six assists for his teammates.
