Nahitan Nandez’s agent Pablo Bentancur has confirmed that the release clause agreed with Cagliari will have to be renegotiated due to the Coronavirus crisis.

The midfielder has drawn links to Inter a number of times in recent months with some reports suggesting that Inter and Cagliari could do a swap deal involving Radja Nainggolan and him.

“Before the lockdown we reached an agreement with Cagliari but his signature is still missing,” Bentancur, who also represents Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, revealed in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“The new agreement includes a €38 million release clause but due to the impact Covid-19 has had on the economy it will have to be renegotiated.”

The 24-year-old has impressed in his first season in Italy with the Rossoblu, who he joined from Superliga Argentina giants Boca Juniors on a five year contract.
