Newcastle United are in talks with Inter regarding signing Valentino Lazaro on a permanent basis according to a report from British news outlet The Sun.
The Austrian national team full back joined the Premier League outfit on loan for the remainder of the season back in the January transfer window and as part of the deal the Magpies obtained an option to buy him outright for £21.5 million (approximately €24 million).
The St James’ Park outfit are currently subject to a takeover bid from a Saudi Arabian led consortium and the prospective new owners, who are reportedly close to finalising a deal, are said to be keen to splash the cash and Lazaro could be the first player they sign to begin their era in charge of the club.
The report goes on to explain that Inter are looking to offload the 23-year-old in the coming months whether that be to Newcastle or on loan to another Serie A club.
