Legendary Inter captain and current club vice president Javier Zanetti has admitted that when Jose Mourinho was the manager of the club the team would have done anything for him.

Mourinho oversaw two highly successful years on Inter’s bench and was the man who guided Inter to their historic treble winning season back in 2009/10.

“You would have jumped into a fire for Mourinho. With him in charge we were not afraid of anyone,” Zanetti remarked in an interview with Italian magazine Sport Week.

Mourinho took charge at Inter in the Summer of 2008 off the back of a highly successful spell in charge of Premier League side Chelsea and in his two years in charge he managed 108 games across all competitions.

The Portuguese manager, who is now in charge at Tottenham Hotspur, won 68 games in charge and sensationally lost just 15 games.

Zanetti joined Inter in the Summer of 1995 from Banfield and went on to spend a total of 19 seasons with the club, the majority he spent as captain of the club.
