Inter are interested in signing Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret, according to a report from Italian media outlet CalcioNapoli24 earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are big fans of the 23-year-old Italian shot stopper, who is contracted to the Partenopei until 2023. The player is considered one of the most exciting prospects in Italian football currently and could be the person to replace Samir Handanovic when the Nerazzurri captain retires.

There has already been contract between Meret’s agents and Inter, the report continues, but Napoli have no interest in giving any discounts. The Partenopei are asking for €20 million in cash as well as Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi, who the Nerazzurri will sign permanently from Sassuolo this summer. A high request but Inter will work hard to lower that request, the report continues.

Meret has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1890 minutes. In that time, he has conceded 27 goals and kept six clean sheets.
