Mauro Icardi is open to the idea of staying with Paris Saint-Germain past the end of this season according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The 27-year-old Argentine striker joined the recently crowned French champions on a season long loan this past Summer from Inter and as part of the deal Paris Saint Germain can sign him on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

For some time reports have suggested that Icardi does not want to remain in the French capital and would instead return to Italy but this report states otherwise.

Whilst in the French capital city, the former Inter captain has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 20 goals and provided a total of five assists for his teammates.

Icardi joined Inter back in 2013 from Sampdoria and has since went on to make 219 appearances, in which he has scored 124 goals and tallied 28 assists.
