Legendary Inter player Sandro Mazzola has sensationally suggested that current Napoli manager and former AC Milan player Gennaro Gattuso would be the perfect manager for Inter.

Gattuso spent some 13 years on the books of Inter’s city rivals and was also their manager between 2017 and 2019 but Mazzola, who spent the entirety of his playing career on Inter’s books, thinks that the 2006 World Cup winner would be the perfect person to manage Inter given his character.

“Leaving the fact that he is an AC Milan fan, he is the perfect manager for Inter because Inter is synonymous with temperament, conviction and determination At Napoli he will do great things because he really has extraordinary skills,” Mazzola explained in an interview with Il Mattino, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

Gattuso took charge of Napoli in December 2019 and has won nine of his 15 games in charge so far, which includes wins over the current top three in Serie A, Juventus, Lazio and Inter.

The 42-year-old, who has a contract with Napoli until the end of next season, has managed a total of 221 games in his managerial career to date, in which he has also managed FC Sion, Palermo, Pisa and OFI Crete. He has won 92 games as a manager.
