Atalanta full back Robin Gosens has admitted that he dreams of one day being able to play for Bundesliga side Schalke.
The 25-year-old German has been in excellent form this season for the Bergamo based club and has been one of the best full backs in Italy.
Gosens, who joined his current employers in 2017 from Dutch side Heracles Almelo and has a contract with them until the end of the 2021/22 season, has had a lot of interest shown in him in recent weeks by many clubs with Inter, Juventus and French side Lyon all having been linked to him.
“It’s my dream to play in the Bundesliga. Maybe it’s not something that will happen right now but to play with Schalke is a childhood dream of mine,” he remarked in an interview with German broadcaster ZDF Sport aired earlier on today.
This season Gosens has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2400 minutes on the field, he has scored a highly impressive eight goals and has also provided a total of five assists for his teammates.
