Diego Godin will not leave Inter in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Not only has the Uruguayan not received any offers to move elsewhere but he is also not wanting to throw in the towel on his Inter career after just one season with the club.

Godin remains convinced that he can do better and wishes to stay and try again having faced a number of difficulties in his first campaign with the club.

For this reason, Lazio are now leading the race to land Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla and Inter have put a move for soon to be free agent Jan Vertonghen on standby.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that Inter have no intention of letting Milan Skriniar depart the club amid reported interest from elsewhere.

Inter will also extend the contract of Danilo D’Ambrosio by a further season to 2022 and allow Andrea Ranocchia to see out the remainder of his contract with the club.
