Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne has revealed that if he were to be given the choice, he would opt for his next club to be a Premier League club.
The Belgian national team defender has drawn links with several clubs in recent weeks and months ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window and Atalanta will reportedly let him go for a fee in the region of €20-25 million.
Inter, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Napoli, Leicester City and Sevilla have all been linked with the former KRC Genk player, whose contract with Atalanta is due to expire at the end of next season.
“I’m fine in Italy. Life is not that different from Belgium, except for the language of course. Even the temperatures in northern Italy are reminiscent of my country,” he remarked in an interview with Belgian news outlet RTBF.
“If I were to choose a future destination, I would probably opt for England but I don’t have a favourite team, all the teams are beautiful.”
This season the 24-year-old right back, who is also comfortable playing at left back too, has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date.
In just shy of 1400 minutes on the park, Castagne has scored two goals and has also provided a total of two assists for his teammates.
