Christian Eriksen and Stefano Sensi are to battle it out for a place in the Inter starting line-up according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella will occupy two of the three spots in the midfield of Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system and either Eriksen or Sensi will take the third starting spot, in which the winner of the battle will play in the role of mezzala.
The report explains that Eriksen is unlikely to spend long on the bench with Conte desperate to get the answers he is seeking from the former Ajax midfielder who joined the club in the most recent January transfer window from Tottenham Hotspur.
Eriksen will not be guaranteed of a place in the team though as Sensi has now put his recent injury problems behind him. The two players are in a similar physical state and the report goes on to state that the winner will likely be the player who best adapts to the tactical set-up.
