After three unsuccessful attempts, Inter have finally agreed to sign a player on a free transfer in Panathinaikos’ Georgios Vagiannidis according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
The highly rated young Greek full back has agreed to join Inter on a four year contract from the Greek Super League side, who will receive a FIFA determined training compensation amount of €400,000.
Vagiannidis will soon be Italy to undergo his Inter medical and finalise his switch to the Nerazzurri club. Upon joining, it’ll be up to Inter manager Antonio Conte to decide what happens next with him.
He could be included in the first team picture or he could be sent out on loan to gain some first team experience.
The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to explain that it was fourth time lucky for Inter when it comes to signing someone on a free transfer having made unsuccessful attempts to sign Tahith Chong, Dries Mertens and Olivier Giroud.
