Inter midfielder Borja Valero could return to his former club Fiorentina in the summer, after his contract expires with the Nerazzurri, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.
The report details how the 35-year-old Spanish midfielder’s contract will expire with the Milanese club, after three years in the Lombard capital. A contract renewal seems unlikely at this point for Valero, especially considering the packed midfield department at Inter and the transfer targets Inter are currently considering, namely Sandro Tonali, whom the Nerazzurri are close to securing a deal for.
Valero could return to Florence to play for his former club Fiorentina, the report continues. The Viola fans still appreciate the 35-year-old Spaniard and would be happy for him to return to the club. Valero spent five years of his career with Fiorentina before joining Inter in 2017. He made 212 appearances across all competitions in that time, scoring 17 goals and providing 45 assists in that time.
