Both Everton and Arsenal are interested in signing Inter midfielder Matias Vecino, according to a report from English media outlet Liverpool Echo earlier today.

The report details how the 28-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, was close to a move away from the Milanese club in the January transfer window, but the move never materialised. He was quickly reintegrated into the squad by coach Antonio Conte but could still leave the club in the summer.

Both Arsenal and Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are keen to sign Vecino, the report continues, with the former AC Milan coach making the first move, before the Gunners moved to provide competition.

Vecino has made 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1676 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided one assist, earning a spot in Conte’s midfield, despite initially struggling for playing time.
