Inter linked Gaetano Castrovilli discussed his future, the rumours tying him to big clubs like the Nerazzurri and his feelings about Fiorentina in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno as reported by Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

“I am honoured by this interest, but I have to grow more and more. I’m a very proud and determined guy, I want to think only about Fiorentina and live every moment to the fullest. Florence is my second home. I have always loved this city and now that it combines work, and above all love, I can only be fascinated by it even more. I thank the fans, who have always supported me, and I promise to always give my best.”

Castrovilli has impressed with the Florence based club this season, linking up well in the midfield with talismanic forward Federico Chiesa and veteran Franck Ribery. The 23-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Viola until 2024, has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2203 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided two assists, being a core part of the club’s midfield.

Inter are looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, in order to continue their path toward a fully competitive squad that has closed the gap with Juventus. One aspect the Milanese club are looking to add to is their core group of young Italian talents, with Castrovilli fitting the bill alongside players like Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella.
