Roma are interested in signing two players on a free transfer that are also being followed by Inter, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Giallorossi are interested in Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen and Chelsea forward Pedro.

The 33-year-old Belgian’s time in North London is coming to an end after eight years and could join the Roman club if they choose not to sign Manchester United defender Chris Smalling. The Englishman may be too expensive for Roma considering both his price and wage demands.

Roma are considering Pedro, the report continues, as they believe he would be the perfect player for coach Paulo Fonseca’s tactical plan and would fit the squad well. Pedro has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1215 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
