Atalanta are really interested in bringing former midfielder Roberto Gagliardini back to the club from Inter according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Inter manager Antonio Conte likes the Italian midfielder Inter paid €22 million to sign from Atalanta but with the return of Radja Nainggolan and possible arrival of Sandro Tonali in the coming months, Gagliardini is likely to slide down the pecking order.

The Italian midfielder has a value against Inter’s books of €8 million and the Nerazzurri club are understood to value him in the region of €12-13 million.

His €2 million a year salary could be a problem for Atalanta but the good relationship between the two clubs could help a deal happen.

The player is not entirely sold on the idea of leaving a side like Inter for a provincial side in Atalanta, according to the report.

By returning to Atalanta however, Gagliardini could start regularly and increase his chances of inclusion in the Italian national team.
