Axel Bakayoko’s loan with Swiss Pro League side FC St Gallen is to be extended until the end of the season according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The French winger joined the Swiss outfit in a two year loan deal from Inter back in the Summer of 2018 and as part of that deal FC St Gallen obtained an option to sign him on a permanent basis for a sum of €4 million.

Bakayoko’s loan was due to expire at the end of this month but has been extended until the end of the Swiss season which is due to start back up again having been brought to a halt due to the Coronavirus.

The report goes on to explain that FC St Gallen have postponed making any decision on whether they will keep Bakayoko outright until the end of the season.

This season he has made 10 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist.
