Atalanta technical director Giovanni Sartori has shared his belief that in demand striker Duvan Zapata will stay with the club.

In recent days reports in the media have suggested that Inter could make a move for the Colombian in the coming months to bolster their attack and Inter manager Antonio Conte is understood to deem Zapata as the perfect player to do just that.

“I think that he will stay in Bergamo for some time. It is a hope and also my belief,” Sartori remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.

The 29-year-old former Sampdoria forward is under contract with his current employers through to the end of the 2022/23 season.

This season, despite spending a few months out due to a thigh injury, Zapata has still managed to make 19 appearances across all competitions to date.

During his time on the park, which totals just over 1300 minutes on the park, Zapata has scored 12 goals and has also provided a total of seven assists for his teammates.
