Inter central defender Stefan de Vrij has sang the praises of teammate Romelu Lukaku ahead of the 2019/20 Serie A season resuming this weekend.

Lukaku has been Inter’s top goalscorer this season and has had a stellar first campaign representing the Nerazzurri following his club record €65 million arrival from Manchester United this past Summer.

The Belgian national team player has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date and in his time on the park he has scored 23 goals and provided a handful of assists for his teammates.

“He is very well, he feels at home here. He is always positive and tries to help the team. He is very strong physically, he is fast and he scores many goals. When I can, of course, I look for him. We can all improve, including him,” de Vrij explained in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN earlier on today.

de Vrij joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with fellow Serie A side Lazio and has been a key player since his arrival in Milan.

The 28-year-old Dutchman has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored two goals and provided four assists.
