Former Bayern Munich and Croatian national team forward Ivica Olic has admitted he would be happy if the German club were to sign his compatriot Ivan Perisic on a permanent basis.

Perisic is currently out on loan at the reigning Bundesliga champions from Inter and Bayern Munich did have an option to sign him but that option has since expired.

Despite the option expiring, reports have stated that Inter and Bayern Munich have a gentleman’s agreement in place to discuss Perisic’s future at a later date.

“Ivan played very well before the injury, I know Bayern are extremely happy with him. I would be very happy if the club bought him from Inter, because I am convinced that he would help them in the future,” Olic began an interview with the online edition of German news outlet Sport BILD.

Olic then went on to share his belief that Perisic will be able to continue playing at a high level for a few more seasons yet.

“It’s true, Perisic is already 31-years-old, but I think he can play at a high level for some more seasons. Physically he is fit, he has not suffered serious injuries in his career.

“He is able to occupy multiple positions in the attack and can play equally as well with both feet. I played with him at Wolfsburg and in the national team and I can say that Ivan is a player that every coach would like to have on his team.”

This season the 31-year-old has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date. In just under 1500 minutes on the park, Perisic has scored six goals and provided eight assists for his teammates.
