Napoli have been in touch with Edinson Cavani’s representatives over a possible return to the club according to a report from French news outlet Le10Sport.com.

Cavani’s contract with current employers Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire in the coming weeks and it has been confirmed by sporting director Leonardo that he will be leaving the club after seven years of service.

Inter and Atletico Madrid have both shown a keen interest in adding the Uruguayan national team striker to their ranks on a free transfer and now Napoli appear to be in the race for him too.

The report explains that Napoli would have the financial might to offer their former striker a nice contract to return to the club, where he is greatly adored by the fans.

This season the 33-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, Cavani has scored seven goals and has provided a total of three assists for his teammates.
