Manchester United owned Alexis Sanchez could stay at Inter beyond next season, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia aired moments ago.

The Chilean national team attacker joined Inter on a season long loan from Premier League club Manchester United this past Summer and the Nerazzurri club are set to try and find an agreement with the Red Devils over either a loan extension or even permanent transfer.

“Inter have an idea of keeping him. They will try to renew the loan over next season or to find another agreement with United,” transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio remarked in the Sky Sport Italia studios this evening.

“The player does not seem to have returned to the level he was at at Udinese and Arsenal and I think the Nerazzurri will take some time to think about whether or not the Chilean will remain at the club in the future.”

The former Barcelona and Arsenal player has not entirely lived up to expectations whilst at Inter due largely in part to the fact he has spent so long sidelined due to injury.

He is however back fully fit now and reports in the media have suggested he could soon be in the starting line-up if Lautaro Martinez’s recent poor form continues amid continued links to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Whilst on loan at Inter, Sanchez has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided three assists for his teammates.
