Inter have already identified who will replace Diego Godin, who is edging closer to leaving the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Godin has been heavily linked with a departure from Inter in the upcoming transfer window for a number of months now and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave the club amid interest from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Godin’s inability to adapt to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s tactics are at the root of suggestions that he could leave the club and although he tried to adapt, he failed to do so and has lost his starting place to Alessandro Bastoni.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter have set their sights on replacing him with Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla.

Hellas Verona are understood to want €25 million for the highly rated 20-year-old defender and reports elsewhere have suggested Inter could offer a player or players as part of a deal.
