Sampdoria club captain and striker Fabio Quagliarella is at risk of missing this weekend’s trip to Milan to take on Inter as the 2019/20 Serie A season gets back underway according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
The veteran striker sustained an injury in a training match in the past few days and is still struggling with it, so much so that he is a doubt for the match against the Nerazzurri on Sunday night.
Quagliarella did not train today and the coming days will be absolutely decisive when it comes to whether or not he will be available to Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri for selection.
The 37-year-old forward has been a key player for Sampdoria in recent seasons and although he has not been as lethal in front of goal this season as he was last term, he has still put up more than respectable numbers for someone his age.
In 22 appearances across all competitions to date, he has scored 10 goals and has provided four assists for his teammates.
